NCAA Begins Hearing On Tennessee Infractions Case

Posted:

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Bruce Pearl and Lane Kiffin have answered all of the questions the NCAA's infractions committee asked Saturday.

Now they will have to wait eight to 12 weeks to get a verdict.

The two former Tennessee coaches were among a large contingent from Knoxville that spent more than 10 1/2 hours inside the hearing room at a hotel in downtown Indianapolis.

Kiffin, the ex-football coach, said he's glad the 22-month investigation is now over. Pearl, the former basketball coach, says he has no sense of relief because he, his staff and the university paid a heavy price for the mistakes made.

The list of allegations includes a dozen major violations against Tennessee's football and basketball programs.
