NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Coach Tim Corbin and the Commodores are ready for the Commodores' first College World Series appearance.  He talked about what winning means to Vanderbilt.

"It's a good feeling to be part of a team that brings some joy to the community, that brings some joy to the university," said Vanderbilt head Coach Tim Corbin." I'm really really proud of the kids. I just love them, not just because we won tonight."

"It's unbelievable," said Vanderbilt's pitcher Will Clinard. "I've been coming to games since I was a little kid."

The little kid in every baseball fan came out while watching one of the greatest performances any player could have. The crowd was chanting his name and screaming for more as Aaron Westlake delivered his third homerun of the game. The first baseman became the first Commodores player to hit three home runs in a game in 20 years and Vanderbilt swept the best-of-three NCAA Super Regional series with Oregon State.

Vanderbilt is the SEC's only private university. The 2008 Music City Bowl trophy is revered as the football team's only bowl victory since 1955, and the only national championship by any Vandy team came from the women's bowling team in 2007.
