NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – The Nashville Predators will be away from home early and late in the 2011-12 season schedule.
The NHL released the schedule Thursday, and the Predators will play 10 of their first 15 on the road while closing with 10 of their final 18 away from home.
They open the season on the road against Central Division rivals Columbus on October 7 and at St. Louis the next day for the first time in the team's history.
Nashville's home opener will be Oct. 13 against Phoenix.
The Predators' longest homestand of five games ends November 22 and will be followed by a season-high five-game road trip that starts the next day.
Nashville will play the 1,000th game in franchise history November 12 against Montreal on the Predators' home ice.
