NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man accused of murdering another man while he was riding a miniature four-wheeler with his four-year-old stepson has been captured in Oregon.

U.S. Marshals captured 21-year-old Evan Knox early Wednesday morning in Gresham, Oregon.

Knox is accused of fatally shooting Thomas Rutledge on May 30 in the J.C. Napier public housing development.

Police said Rutledge was riding through the Napier homes on a miniature gasoline powered four-wheeler with his four-year-old stepson when he was approached by a gunman, identified by witnesses as Knox, who opened fire.

Rutledge was hit and died at the scene. The boy was not injured.

Police issued arrest warrants for criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide on June 8. Knox was sentenced to five years for an aggravated robbery in 2009.

Knox was booked into the Multnomah County Jail and is expected to be extradited Nashville in the next several days.
