More Clarksville Rental Scam Victims Coming Forward

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Clarksville police said the number of victims in a scam operation targeting military families has risen to about 16.

Stephanie Jenkins is charged with four counts of theft in connection with the rental scam.

Investigators said she listed this home on McClardy Road for rent on Craigslist and the Automated Housing Referral Network.

She took cash, checks, and money orders from prospective renters as deposits. But when they showed up to move in, someone was already living there.

Police said the victims are mainly military members coming to Clarksville after a deployment.

Jenkins is free on $60,000 bond. She is expected to appear in court Friday.
