NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A Metro councilman's outburst is caught on tape. After Jamie Hollin lashed out at some of his colleagues, he now calls some of them bigots.

A reporter from the Tennessean was there when the heated exchange took place in the parking garage, right after Tuesday night's City Council meeting.  The trouble started when Council member Hollin moved to suspend the rules and pass a resolution.

It was a resolution honoring some local high school students who did a daily protest against a piece of state legislation they called, "homophobic." Council members Phil Claiborne and Jim Gotto objected to the move, which essentially killed the resolution.

Hollin confronted Gotto about what happened moments later, and a Tennessean reporter rolled on everything. This is a transcript of the conversation:

Hollin: I deserve the respect of sitting in there and busting my butt for you. Phil didn't do it on his own. Did you coordinate it before hand? Or did you just see Phil do it. And say yeah, I'll join him?
Gotto: No, I had intended on objecting if you tried to move it.
Hollin: Why? I can't bring it back!
Gotto: Because I wanted to.
Hollin: I can't bring it back Jim! That's it. There is no next meeting. That is it, so I can't recognize some high-schoolers that you happen to disagree with. That's it! Nobody else, Jim, in this state has helped you up there, as much as I have, nobody! Not this man right here, your best friend, not him. I pulled it all for you!

On Wednesday night, Hollin said he stands behind the heated words he directed towards his colleagues. Both Council members Jim Gotto and Phil Claiborne could not be reached for comment.
