App Lets You Receive Someone Else's Text Messages

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - If you have a smart phone, most likely you have downloaded an "app" to your phone. But some said there is a dark side to this technology.

Questions are being raised about the Secret SMS Replicator app. It allows you to get someone else's text messages sent directly to your phone.

It's designed for parents, who can download the app on their kid's smart phone. But it's marketed another way.

"John's noticed that Jenny's been acting, a little sneakier than usual. John can use SMS Replicator," said a commercial on

It goes on to say: "SMS secret Replicator lets you secretly forward incoming text messages from one phone to another. The app runs secretly and silently, with no visible icon to let them know their phone is under surveillance."

Experts said installing the app on someone else's phone, without their permission, could be considered illegal wiretapping.

If you want to avoid someone putting the Secret SMS Replicator on your phone, there is also an app for that too.
