NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police were called in to investigate a suspicious package outside the Criminal Justice Center Wednesday.
The call went in to emergency dispatch around 12:30 p.m. after a backpack was found outside the building located on James Robertson Parkway at 2nd Avenue.
Police did not evacuate the building, but did keep people inside while the backpack was checked. The building houses the Davidson County Jail, and acts as the intake point for all people arrested in the county.
Just one block away is the Davidson County Sheriff's Office administrative offices and the Hill Detention Center.
A stretch of James Robertson Parkway was closed while bomb squad members went in to investigate.
Officials said the backpack was full of clothes.
