Titans Fans Excited About Scrimmage, Single Ticket Sales

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - It's a big weekend for Titans fans. The team is holding a scrimmage Saturday and single game tickets go on sale Monday.

Training Camp continued Friday at Baptist Sports Park.

Fans at the practice were greeted with cooler temperatures and overcast skies. Earlier in the day, the Titans were unsure about an outdoor practice. Lightning hit the facility knocking out power.

No outdoor practice would mean no access for fans.

Doug Covert and his brother drove all night from New Jersey to see a player they used to coach in high school. They coached Kevin Malast, who was a Chicago Bear, but now he's a Titan.

"The last couple of years I went to Chicago. Now I'm here. About the same distance-- 14 hours this way or 14 hours that way. We drove straight through and got here this morning," Covert said.

Some fans decided to sit Friday's practice out and wait for to see their favorite players at Saturday's scrimmage.

Melissa George and her daughter shopped for new Titans clothes at the stadium gift shop.

"We're excited about the new quarterback," said George.

She has two to choose from: Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck. Neither jersey is available in the gift shop or at Nashville retailers. Fans will have to wait another two weeks.

Zach and Hayden Shoup from Arkansas got a close up look at the stadium for the first time on Friday. The trip was Grandma's treat.

The Titans scrimmage begins at 2 p.m. Saturday. Single game tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday.
