Police Arrest Suspect In Sonic Armed Robbery

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police arrested a convicted felon wanted in connection with a Sonic robbery in which the suspect brandished a shotgun.

SWAT officers arrested 23-year-old Derrick Gordon on Friday night outside an Iverson Avenue residence where he was taken into custody without incident.

Gordon was charged in hold-up of Sonic on Dickerson Pike on July 17. Police said Gordon entered the Sonic at 11:15 p.m. armed with a shotgun, and demanded money from two cashiers. Only one gave him cash and he fled.

Gordon was charged with aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery. Police said Gordon has previous convictions for assault, aggravated burglary and theft.
