NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metro Health Department spent Thursday vaccinating seventh graders who showed up for the first day of school unprepared.
This is the second year that seventh graders were required to have a Chicken Pox booster and a Tetanus booster before returning to school.
The fast track clinic saw hundreds of students over the past few days and plan to see even more on Friday.
"You have vacations you're buying clothes you're buying supplies throughout the summer and I think they put off the shots till last and the kids probably appreciate that," Metro Health Spokesman Brian Todd said.
Metro Schools were giving students five days to get vaccinated before turning kids away.
Metro Health is always open to give back to school shots. If you want to get it done quickly, the fast track clinic is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Monday.
