Citizen's Tip Leads To Arrest Of Accused Murderer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police said a citizen's tip led to the arrest of a teenager accused of murder on Friday morning.

19-year-old Quincy Sharpe was taken into custody without incident at a Highway 70 South apartment.

Police said Sharpe was wanted in connection with the October 8, 2009 shooting death of Demetrius Riley on Richmond Hill Drive near Spears Road.

Work by cold case detectives led to the identification as Sharpe as one of two suspects. Sharpe was 17 at the time of the shooting so his charges will first be in Juvenile Court.

Police are still investigating, and said more arrests are expected.
