NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The training wheels are coming off for Vanderbilt and new coach James Franklin.
The 3-0 start that has Vanderbilt receiving votes in The Associated Press' Top 25 poll for the first time since the 2009 preseason has come at home, and now the Commodores are about to face their biggest challenge yet Saturday night visiting No. 12 South Carolina.
Not that Franklin nor his players will admit this is any different than their opener against Elon, sticking to the cliché that it's the next game.
The closest Franklin came Monday to admitting this is any different is with his plans to grab as many speakers as possible from across campus to crank up the noise in practice this week, including South Carolina game fixtures like the gamecock crow.
