SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - An 86-year-old former Nashville preacher is accused by Georgia investigators of molesting a family member numerous times over an eight year period.

Clarence Caldwell Arquitt Jr., of Sanford, North Carolina, was charged child molestation, aggravated child molestation, and sodomy. Arquitt's victim, who now at age 20, alleges the abuse began when she was about three years old and continued until she was around 11 years old.

When Georgia investigators contacted Arquitt, who is currently living in North Carolina, about the charges he refused to return to the state to answer for them. Arquitt was then arrested and held in the Lee County Jail in North Carolina. He is currently fighting extradition to Georgia.

Detectives are seeking anyone with information about possible victims in the cities where Arquitt worked. If you have any information please contact Detective Mike Bailey at the Sandy Springs Police Department at (770) 551-6900 or email him at
