Police Investigate Fatal Saturday Shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn.-  Detectives are investigating Saturday afternoon's fatal shooting inside an apartment at 604 Sylvan Street in the James Cayce public housing development that claimed the life of Dajuantae Moore, 20, and critically injured his step-brother, 15-year-old Taurus Williams.

Officers responded to shots fired at 12:30 p.m.  When they arrived, they found Moore, of Maple Place, dead inside the apartment.  Williams ran from the apartment, but he collapsed nearby.  Williams was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was in critical condition Saturday evening.

The motive for the shooting is under investigation.  Detectives said there are several witnesses. They believe several people were inside the apartment when the shooting happened. They're asking them to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
