SPRING HILL, Tenn. – Spring Hill city leaders are scheduled to vote Monday night on a controversial crematorium.
The Board of Mayor and Alderman is expected to take up the issue at their meeting at 7 p.m.
The proposal is for Spring Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home to build a 3,600 square foot crematory.
The Board of mayor and Alderman deferred the first reading of a zoning ordinance to allow the crematorium to be built after the owner asked for more time to allow for additional emissions studies.
Opponents are concerned the crematorium would create dangerous mercury emissions. The Citizens for a Better Spring Hill is planning a rally at 6 p.m. at Spring Hill City Hall.
