SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. - One person died and two others were injured after a late night crash in Sumner County.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Monday on Hartsville Pike near Greenfield Lane just outside Gallatin.
Investigators said a minivan suddenly veered onto the wrong side of the road and slammed right into a pick-up truck. The truck flipped over into a ditch, and the driver was killed instantly. The passenger in the truck and the driver of the minivan had to be cut out.
They were taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious injuries.
Troopers said no one was wearing a seatbelt.
Troopers did not think alcohol or drugs were factors, but they performed toxicology tests. They were also trying to figure out if fatigue was a factor.
The victim's identies were not released pending family notification.
