LA VERGNE, Tenn. – A house was destroyed after an early morning fire in La Vergne.
When fire crews got on the scene around 3:30 a.m. Monday, the home on Park Court was fully engulfed in flames.
A 17-year-old girl inside the home woke up to noises and then was able to wake up her mother and mother's boyfriend to get them out of the burning home.
Fire crews were able to get the fire under control, but the home was a total loss.
Investigators said the fire likely started in the laundry room. The family said they had been running the dryer on Sunday night, so they are investigating whether that may have sparked the fire.
