Mystery Of Lights Witnessed Across Mid-State

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A mystery of lights was witnessed across the mid-state on Sunday night.

One of our viewers, Heather Brown, sent us a picture saying she witnessed some 50 to 70 orange lights glowing in the sky in Lebanon.

Then, two other viewers, Reza and Joey, captured some footage of the same orange lights in Gladeville.

NewsChannel 5 also had dozens of reports of the glowing mystery out of Manchester, Franklin, and Goodlettsville.

No official confirmation of the cause, but a viewer named Allen Willis e-mailed us saying the lights over Lebanon were from the First United Methodist Church. He said it was part of a youth group event where they wrote prayers on lanterns or balloons and floated them up in to the atmosphere.
