Charlie Daniels performs at Grand Ole Opry Saturday night, October 29, 2011.
NASHVILLE, Tenn.- He's a
country music legend that has been making hits for decades, but Saturday, he
reached a once in a lifetime milestone.
The legendary Charlie
Daniels was joined Saturday by friends and family at the Grand Ole Opry to celebrate
his 75th birthday. Some others in the Country Music industry were there as well,
including Clint Black, Lee Greenwood and Tanya Tucker.
He says, despite all his
accomplishments there are still a few things he's yet to do.
"I still wanna kill an
eight point buck and catch a 12 lb large-mouth bass. I hadn't done that
yet. I've done a lot of things that I
wanna do. One of the things that's very near and dear to my heart is being in
the Grand Ole Opry. Being a member of
the Grand Ole Opry means more to me than I can even express," said
Daniels' birthday was
actually Friday. He said he celebrated the same way he did Saturday, performing
on stage.
