Manhunt Underway For Robbery, Assault Suspect

SPRING HILL, Tenn. – Officers in Maury County spent the afternoon Thursday searching for a suspect wanted for sexually assaulting a woman in her home.

Officers with the Maury County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened just after 11:15 a.m. Police said a suspect knocked on a women's door and asked to use the phone. When the woman turned around to get the phone the suspect attacked her.

Officials said the man also took some personal belongings from the home and then fled to a nearby market.

Nearby Spring Hill High School was placed on lockdown Thursday after the incident as a precaution. The school was released from the lockdown around 3 p.m.

A manhunt was underway for the suspect on ground and with a police helicopter.

The suspect was described as a white man with a dark beard, between 215 to 250 pounds, wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie.
