NASHVILLE, Tenn. – If you're thinking about putting down the cigarette pack for good, it is good time to do it. Thursday is the 36th Great American Smokeout.
It is the day that the American Cancer Society urges smokers to kick the habit. The organization said if you quit, you can live up to ten years longer than if you smoke.
It can also reduce your risk of lung cancer and other major diseases like heart disease and stroke.
