NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Ask the question a million different ways. James Franklin's answer never changes.
So what if Vanderbilt can become bowl eligible with a win Saturday at Tennessee, something the Commodores have done only four times -- ever. The first-year coach refuses to change his approach, focusing on the next game only.
Franklin says his Commodores will go anywhere if asked. But he's not talking about a bowl game until the season ends. He wants his players focused only on one practice, one game, six seconds at a time.
His Commodores might hear fellow students chanting "Beat UT" around campus. But a team that went 2-10 each of the past two seasons is listening to its coach.
Quarterback Jordan Rodgers says being 5-5 simply strengthens Franklin's message.
