NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee Titans defensive end Dave Ball says he briefly considered retirement after his latest concussion two weeks ago against Cincinnati.
Ball returned to practice Friday, but won't play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday because of his third concussion the past two seasons.
He played only 11 games last year when his season ended due to a concussion. He says he thought of retiring but isn't at that point yet. Ball says it would take a couple more hard knocks to do that.
Ball consulted with doctors, including one at Vanderbilt, who convinced him that he would be fine to return.
Both he and the Titans expect him to play Nov. 27 against Tampa Bay.
