MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The sister of a six-year-old child who was struck and killed by a day care bus in the parking lot of a Memphis elementary school said the boy was hit as he turned around to pick up a book he had dropped.

Six-year-old Anthony Scott Jr. was walking home from school on Monday when he was killed.

His 10-year-old sister, Salina Webb, also is a student at the school. She told The Commercial Appeal her brother fell down and hit the back of his head after the bus struck him. He died later at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

Police have not filed any charges against the 67-year-old driver, Victor Hardy. Day care vans often pick up elementary school children for afterschool programs.

The investigation is ongoing.
