Tennessee, Kentucky See Different Sides Of Streak

Posted: Updated:

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Joker Phillips is tired of seeing highlights of himself as a player.

He's gotten his fill again this week because Phillips was a wide receiver on the last Wildcats team that beat Tennessee in 1984.

At 26 years and counting, Tennessee (5-6, 1-6 Southeastern Conference) must extend that winning streak against Kentucky to reach a bowl game. Kentucky (4-7, 1-6) only has this final game to cap a disappointing season that will see their five-year run of bowl eligibility end.

Volunteers coach Derek Dooley wants his players to ignore the streak, while Kentucky players mention it only in passing.
