NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro City leaders announced a multi-million dollar grant Wednesday to help dads in the area.
Metro City leaders and community partners made the announcement at 10 a.m. inside the Hadley Park Gym.
The New Life Project is a federal grant that will provide fathers in North and East Nashville with skills, knowledge and support to become more positively involved in the lives of their children.
Supporters said it's just as important to educate dads as it is moms in order to maximize the health and well-being of overall families.
Metro Nashville has been awarded a $4.8 million grant that will be divided up into three years. It will specifically be used to provide parenting education, employment and educational resources and even some life-skills training all to encourage successful fatherhood.
