Police: Robbers Use Stolen Van In ATM Theft Attempt

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro police were called out to investigate an attempted ATM robbery from an east Nashville market on Wednesday morning.

Police said a van crashed through a window at the AM Express Market in the 3700 block of Dickerson Pike just before 4 a.m.

The ATM inside was damaged, but not taken from the business. Investigators said the van had "Electech" on the side.

Officers went to the business on Bellshire Drive, and found a lock on the gate had been removed, and several other vehicles in the parking lot had peeled steering columns.

The owner of the business confirmed the van had been stolen.

So far, no arrests have been made.
