HARTSVILLE, Tenn. – A sheriff's deputy who was shot in the face in Trousdale County was released from Vanderbilt Medical Center Tuesday.
Sgt. Harold Cooley was responding to a domestic call at the home about a fight between the suspect, David Graves and his girlfriend.
When Sgt. Cooley arrived at the home, Graves allegedly refused to put down his weapon and eventually opened fire, striking the sergeant in the face.
Deputies fired back, injuring Graves. Both Cooley and Graves were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries.
Sgt. Harold Cooley was released Tuesday and was recovering at home.
