Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Predators and Bridgestone Americas, Inc have announced a five-year extension of the naming rights for Bridgestone Arena.

The initial term of the agreement was five years when it was signed in 2010. With the extension, it will continue until 2019.

The venue has enjoyed its most successful years to date over the past two years. It is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month.

The downtown arena is home to the Predators and also is used for sporting events, circuses, concerts, conventions and other events. It has been the site of the nationally televised CMA awards show since 2006 and is under contract for it through 2013.

The arena ranked sixth nationally in 2010 concert attendance with 447,000.

Upcoming events include the 2012 SEC Women's Basketball; 2012 NCAA Men's Basketball; 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2019 SEC Men's Basketball; and 2014 NCAA Women's Final Four.
