NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Music City's New Year's Eve Bash on Broadway will be broadcast on CNN this year, announced the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau Thursday.

Officials said the live broadcast will cover the music, crowds and the very first "Music Drop" the dropping of a 15-foot music note covered in over 150 feet of LED lights to ring in the New Year. The broadcast will go from 11:10 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. CST.

"I am honored, but not surprised, that they have chosen Nashville as one of a handful of cities to highlight during New Year's Eve," said Nashville Mayor Karl Dean.

30,000 people are expected to come out this year to ring in the New Year downtown.

"This allows millions of people from around the world to see and feel Music City," said Butch Spyridon, president of the NCVB.

The ‘Bash on Broadway' will feature live musical performances starting at 7 p.m. from Edens Edge, THE FARM, Jeffrey Steele and southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd.
