KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee starting point guard Trae Golden has had surgery on his broken nose.
Team senior associate athletic trainer Chad Newman said after Golden's Friday surgery that the sophomore should be cleared to play in the Volunteers' next game on Jan. 2 against Chattanooga.
Golden has played in every game since he suffered the minor fracture in his nose in practice on Dec. 16 when he was elbowed in the face.
Golden leads the Vols (6-6) with 13 points and 29.5 minutes of play per game. He has 68 assists and 12 steals this season and has started all 12 games.
