NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dozens braved the wind and ice cold waters for the annual Polar Bear Plunge on Sunday.
It all happened at Percy Priest Lake. It's become an annual tradition at the Joe C. Davis YMCA Outdoor Center. The event is also a fundraiser for the Y.
Regardless of the weather, swimmers said it's something they wouldn't miss.
"Oh it's fantastic, it's a great way to get the year going. It kind of reinforces just how awesome everything is. It's great to get out and see all these awesome people," said Charles Thompson
"There's no better way than to wash off the previous year," added Allen Garner.
The water temperature was in the upper 40s, which is warmer than some past years.
