NASHVILLE, Tenn.– On Friday, an East Nashville woman became the third largest winning in The Price Is Right's 40 year history.
Stephanie Johnson said that if she ever made it to "The Price Is Right" for a taping she wanted to hear the phrase, "Stephanie Johnson come on down."
After winning the Ellen DeGeneres Show summer sweepstakes for a trip to Hollywood, Johnson thought she would try her luck and visit "The Price Is Right" with her mother.
"The Price Is Right is like an American icon. I don't know a single person who doesn't say I love that show. Young and old," said Johnson.
Within minutes of the show, Johnson was called to bid on an Apple laptop computer.
Her bid was $1,201, with the actual retail price being $1,299, winning her the computer.
It was just the beginning of the East Nashville woman's winning streak.
In her attempt to win $100,000 playing, ‘Pay the Rent,' Johnson walked away with $10,000 for herself and charity United Nations Children Fund, UNICEF.
UNICEF was the chosen charity, picked by super model and reality show host Heidi Klum, during Celebrity Charity Week on the show.
Johnson did not win $100,000, but she did walk away with $10,000 playing ‘Pay the Rent.'
Once she got her chance to spin the wheel, which could have landed her in the final Showcase, she was a little nervous.
A contestant before her earned 90-cents during his spins.
"I'm like there is no way I am beating 90-cents," said Johnson.
In her first spin, Johnson landed on $1.00, which earned her $1,000 and an extra spin.
During the second spin, Johnson landed on the green section, winning her an additional $10,000.
"We were all so nervous; although we knew she'd won; everybody here was just thinking she's got to get it. We knew she had, but it didn't matter. Everybody was just so excited," said Rae Krenn, manager of the Palm restaurant in downtown Nashville.
To help celebrate, Johnson's friends and co-workers gathered at The Palm restaurant, where Johnson works, for a watch party.
During the Showcase, Johnson underbid her prizes by $136, making her a Double Showcase Winner, meaning she won her prizes and the other contestant's.
"It's a pure blessing," said Johnson. "God or an angel was holding my hand the entire time to make this thing happen."
In addition to the $21,000 in cash, Johnson also won a $3,000 shopping spree in Beverly Hills, a trip to New York Fashion Week and VIP passes to an after party, a trip to Orlando, a 2012 Jeep Patriot and a 2012 Mercedes Benz C250.
Stephanie's winnings make her the third highest winner in the game show's 40-year run.
Her total winning cash and prices added up to $104,346.
