‘Food For Fines' Program Starts Monday At Library

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Starting Monday, the Nashville Public Library will accept canned food as payment for fines.

The Food for Fines program runs until January 19.

They accept peanut butter, canned chicken or tuna, vegetables, fruit, soups, cereal and pasta. They said they can't take anything in a glass container or something that's been opened or expired.

For everyone can of food, library members will get a $1 credit.

The donated food will go to Second Harvest.
