Barn Destroyed On Country Singer Billy Dean's Property

SMITHVILLE, Tenn. – Country music singer Billy Dean's barn was destroyed by fire while he was on tour.

A 1,500 square foot barn on his property in Smithville caught fire during the holidays and burned to the ground.

His fishing boat, tractor, and a number of nostalgic treasures dating back to the early days when he was recording and trying to get a deal with a label were all lost in the fire.

Billy Dean released a statement, saying: "I lost a lot of things that were very meaningful to me but no one was hurt and that's really all that matters at the end of the day."

He said they will rebuild, but he will miss that tractor and fishing boat this spring.

Billy Dean was touring with Kenny Rogers when it happened.

The singer's plans for public events at his home this year will not be affected.

In coming weeks, Dean is expected to make an official announcement about public events to be held at ‘Dean Acres.'
