TRIMBLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Trimble Board of Mayor and Aldermen has authorized a 9,000-square-foot distillery in the town on the Dyer-Obion county line.
The proposal now awaits state and federal approval, according to the State Gazette of Dyersburg.
The distillery is the project of Michael Ballard, star of the cable TV show "Full Throttle Saloon." He said nearly all the liquor, "Full Throttle Sl'oon Shine," would be shipped out to distribution companies across the country. He said he's projecting 10,000 visitors to the distillery during the first year of operation. Construction could begin in the fall.
Ballard said he chose Trimble because his family has roots in the town.
