Company Plans Test Job Fair To Gauge Interest

Posted: Updated:

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - A Massachusetts-based company is looking to bring more than 500-jobs to the mid-state but their decision relies on the success of a job fair.

Agero has planned a job fair for Tuesday and Wednesday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Clarksville. They said it will help them decide whether or not to open their new call center in Montgomery County.

The other location in the running is Florence, South Carolina. The company is holding job fairs in both cities so they can check out what each workforce has to offer.

Clarksville officials said being a military town will hopefully help them edge out the competition.

"One of the key factors they are looking for are people with empathy. Someone who can be very calm on the other end of a phone when you have somebody who is in a dire situation or an emergency situation. That's our people. Think about what they have been dealing with for the last decade. To be able to calmly work through a problem or help someone work through a problem I think is going to be key," said one Clarksville leader.

Clarksville's job fair will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m.  to 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.
