NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Many of Nashville's independently-owned restaurants are providing customers a chance to dine at a fraction of the cost. The group called Nashville Originals has kicked off another Restaurant Week of savings.

Nashville has plenty of corporate-owned dining choices. A group of 48 independently-owned establishments are ready to show customers what they have to offer.

"This is a way of really showcasing what's local and what's in town and I think that's what most people want, a true flavor of Nashville," explained Bob Waggoner, new executive chef and partner at Watermark in the Gulch.

The participating restaurants have special menus available this week. Most are charging $20.12 or $30.12 for multi-course meals.

Kim Hawkins and her boyfriend dined at Watermark Monday night. Restaurant week provided them an opportunity they could not pass up.

"We decided to come, because for the price, we wanted to try something new, that normally we might not have been able to afford. So we wanted to try something new and for what you get for the price, it's great," Hawkins explained.

Several restaurants are also offering special lunch and brunch menus this week.

"I think that's one great thing about this, is that people can go to the web site and check it out and find out what's going on and see restaurant menus and what they're showcasing," said Chef Waggoner.

Nashville Originals' web site has the complete details for Restaurant Week which runs through Sunday, January 22nd.
