NASHVILLE, Tenn. - For the third time this month, a South Nashville Mapco has been robbed overnight.
Just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday, a man walked into the Mapco on Old Hickory Boulevard near Nolensville Road and waved a knife at the clerk. He demanded money and then took off on foot.
Police said the robber was described as a white male, about 6'2 tall around 250 pounds, wearing a black bandanna and a gray hoodie. He fled on foot towards Nolensville Road.
It was just a few weeks ago that the Old Hickory Boulevard business was robbed twice in one week. On January 2, the clerk said a teenager came into the store with a handgun and demanded money. He got away with about $400. The second robbery on January 5, the robber also had a gun, but only got about $14.
Police said the robber in those two instances was described as a young black male, who did not cover his face.
The store is open 24-hours. A manager said is taking precautions to make sure it does not happen again.
So far, no arrests have been made. Police had called out K9 units to search for the suspect.
