NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Monday the Better Business Bureau released its latest list of companies and services that it says you should probably avoid.

It was created because the BBB has gotten a lot of complaints from angry customers about the businesses that made the list. There are nine companies on the Better Business Bureau's latest list of "Misleading Advertising, Products and Services that Middle Tennessee Consumers and Businesses Can Do without In January 2012'.

One company listed was Big Ron's Auto Repair on Hillhurst Drive here in Nashville. The BBB said customers have paid hundreds of dollars each to have work done on their cars, but the work is never done. The company won't tell customers why or give them their money back.

The Prisoner's Secretary which operates out of a Nashville P.O. Box offers a variety of services to prisoners; things like finding them pen pals or setting up web sites for them. But inmates said they have not received what they paid for and can't get the company to respond.

Brides-to- be said when they've ordered custom wedding dresses from Angel's Bridal and Photography in Carthage, they've gotten used looking dirty lace on dresses that were nothing like they ordered.

NewsChannel5 Investigates also exposed problems with another company on the BBB's list. Tri-Star Waste Systems based in Nashville. Business paid the company to haul away their trash, but Tri-Star suddenly stopped collecting the trash several months ago leaving businesses with overflowing dumpsters.

More than 90 customers have complained to the BBB about In-Ear Systems out of Mt. Juliet, a company that said it makes in-ear monitoring systems. Customers however said they pay up front for custom ordered monitors that never show up and they can't get anyone from the company to take their calls.

Customers of Maglife said they ordered magazines from door-to-door salesmen, but they never get their magazines. The BBB said the Nashville office is now vacant.

Customers of Richard's Paving in Madison said this company does a lousy job of re paving driveways and responding to customers who complain.

And, customers who have ordered wedding or prom dresses online from Bridal and Formals by RJ said they got poor quality dresses and even though the company advertises that it offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee, unhappy customers said they have not been able to get their money back.

The BBB said each of the businesses on this list was contacted repeatedly by the BBB about the problems customers encountered and that the businesses failed to make any changes or do anything to correct the problems.
