Puppy Recovering After Being Dragged By Truck

WARREN COUNTY, Tenn.- A young puppy continues to recover from horrible injuries and surgery, after being dragged behind a moving pickup truck.

Deputies in Warren County, Kentucky have charged the puppy's owner, Shane Helson, with torturing of a dog, a felony charge. Authorities said Helson chained the puppy, named Malachi by animal hospital staffers, to his truck, and then drove off. A worker spotted the puppy in the road, and took him to the Humane Society of Warren County.

The puppy was reported to be in stable condition, but still has a long recovery ahead of him. Helson told authorities he didn't realize the dog was still chained to his truck when he drove off.
