Seven Injured In Crash In North Nashville

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A wreck sent seven people, including four children, to the hospital Sunday evening.

Earlier in the evening, Metro Police stopped the driver of a white Camry. While the officer was at his window, the driver took off.

Later, around 7:15 Sunday evening, the same Toyota Camry was involved in an accident with a  Ford Explorer. They hit each other at the intersection of Westchester and Devonshire Drives in North Nashville. Police believe the driver of the Camry swerved off Devonshire Drive onto Westchester hitting the Explorer.

A witness said he saw emergency officials use the "jaws of life" to get someone out of the vehicle. The driver of the Toyota, the two adults, and four children in the Explorer were all rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

The driver of the Camry has life-threatening injuries.

No identities were released.
