RECIPE # 4766 - CHOCOLATE BUTTERFINGER SQUARES - Wednesday, February 1, 2012

ANN COX EASTES / KROGER

1 (18.25-oz) pkg Devil's Food cake mix (or chocolate, fudge or German chocolate), prepared according to package directions (usually requires 3 eggs, ½ c oil and 1 1/3 c water)

1 (14-oz) can fat free sweetened condensed milk

2 (2-oz) Butterfinger candy bars, crushed

1 (8-oz) container light frozen whipped topping, thawed

Chocolate syrup

Prepare cake mix according to directions and bake in a 13"x9" pan for the time indicated on the cake mix box.  Remove from oven and punch holes in top of cake.  Pour sweetened condensed milk over top of cake.  Sprinkle with half of candy bars. Let cool completely.  Spread top of cake with whipped topping and sprinkle remaining candy bars on top.  Drizzle with chocolate syrup.  Yield:  24 squares.

**Heath Bars may also be substituted for Butterfinger candy.
