NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An "Education to Employment" symposium was held Wednesday, February 1st by Nashville's Operation Stand Down.
Its mission is to help veterans take leadership skills from the battlefield to the boardroom.
The group said when veterans leave the military, they typically take a wealth of skills with them, but connecting those skills with civilian life isn't always easy.
That's why events like the symposium are so important.
"One of the best comments I've heard so far is that one of the veterans had no idea some of these things were available, and this provided them with an outlet to ask questions and get more information about what is out there for them," said J.C. Smith of Operation Stand Down.
Operation Stand Down also helps veterans with transitional housing and job placement.
