Overton County High Delayed Thursday Due To Bomb Threat

Posted: Updated:

OVERTON COUNTY, Tenn. – School officials said a bomb threat was issued against an Overton County High school Wednesday afternoon.

Officials confirm the threatening message was written on a bathroom wall at Livingston High School. The threat mentions that a bomb will explode on Thursday.

"Officials found the threat written on a bathroom wall, saying that a bomb would go off during the early hours of school Thursday." said Matt Eldridge, Oveton County Schools Director.

Local law enforcement, bomb squads and K9 units spent Wednesday afternoon sweeping the school and said they will work throughout the night to ensure student's safety.

Eldridge said they will use extra caution when opening school Thursday.

Overton County school officials said  they will open school at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday so that the police department has time to check out all of the county school.
