Shooting At Lane College Campus Seriously Injures One

JACKSON, Tenn.- One person was critically injured in a shooting on Lane College Campus Wednesday.

The Jackson Police Department said the shooting occurred around 6:10 p.m. and one man was critically injured. Although the victim's name has not yet been released, police said he was a Jackson resident and not a student at Lane College.

Officials said the shooting occurred after a fight near the parking lot near the gym area of campus.

Police believe there were many people around at the time of the shooting and have asked anyone with information to contact the Jackson Police Department 425-8676 or Crime Stoppers at 424-8477.
