NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A metro department is on its way to improving Nashville's dads.
The Metro Public Health Department and its partners are using this funding to help maximize the well-being of both dads and their kids, with its "New Life Project."
It's a program that will use a nearly $5 million federal grant to teach men how to be better fathers.
"What we wanted to do was figure out how to better serve the fathers in our community, and make sure they had the resources and the tools that they needed to go out and gain employment. Also to be able to spend quality time with his children that's going to find the best outcome for that child," said Robert Taylor of the Metro Public Health Department.
The $4.8 million grant will be spread out over the next three years.
