NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police noticed a suspicious man walking down the street overnight, and said he took off when they tried to talk to him.
Officers thought the man was hiding something on his waist as he walked near Lafayette and Louis. When they stopped to check they say he threw a handgun on the ground and ran.
Police caught him and had to tase him to get him under control.
That's when a screaming woman ran out in the street claiming to be the suspect's mother, but she later admitted she didn't even know the man.
The police eventually took the woman into custody as well.
No identities were released.
