Local Woman Nominated By President to U.S. Marshals

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Tonight a local woman's who devoted her life to law enforcement has been tapped by the White House for the next chapter in her career.

President Obama has nominated Metro's Deputy Chief Louise Kelton for Middle Tennessee's U.S. Marshal.

"I am deeply honored to receive President Obama's nomination for the post of Middle Tennessee's U.S. Marshal. I have devoted my professional career to law enforcement in Nashville and am proud to serve as a member of the Metropolitan Police Department. I now look forward to the U.S. Senate's confirmation process," she said.

Kelton has spent more than three decades on the force. She was Commander of North Precinct operations for four years prior to her appointment as Deputy Chief in 2008.
